Google Confirms That It’s Shutting Down Google One VPN Service By The End Of This Year

Google has always worked for the users’ sake, with many of its services being used by millions of people, including Google One. The company introduced VPN support within Google One three years ago, in 2020. Google has recently announced Google One VPN Service will shut down over the next few months.

The latest news of the discontinuation of the VPN by Google One is communicated to users via an email that Google sends. Within the email, Google doesn’t specify the exact date of shutting down of Google One VPN support but only states that the discontinuation will take place later this year.

The integration of the VPN service within Google One offers an additional layer of protection and trust that online data is safe and highly protected, but Google is discontinuing it for a good reason. The company wanted to focus on more essential features of Google One.

Meanwhile, it seems like Google is not making any changes to the exciting free VPN service that has arrived with the Pixel 7 lineup. The company guarantees VPN availability for five years. This certainly means that only the VPN by Google One is discontinued, while the Pixel’s VPN service will remain as usual.

As of now, the Google One VPN plan is running for $9,99/month in the form of the premium plan, while it certainly brought down to $1.99/month in March last year.
