Samsung Launches Spatial AI-Powered 3D Map View for SmartThings App

Samsung SmartThings 3D Map View: Samsung is focusing on revolutionizing the technology to offer users a more advanced and personalized experience. Samsung has always led from the front among all the other brands across the market, with the Galaxy models and other electronics products. Similarly, first showcased at the recently held CES 2024 event, Samsung now announces that the brand is going to launch a new 3D Map View Feature, which will be based on SmartThings and spatial AI.

With the increasing number of devices at home, it isn’t easy to find each connected device separately before using them. Samsung has streamlined an amazing solution that will help you with easier home management while eliminating the requirement to find every device separately. Samsung explains that with the new 3D Map View Feature, users can see their entire home at a glance by turning their real home into virtual images in the SmartThings app.

It also allows users to look at their home with all the devices on each floor and easily adjust the device’s lighting, temperature, air quality, and energy consumption anywhere at any time. The new and upgraded 3D Map View measures your entire home with much more accuracy and provides a map of your home’s layout by using advanced spatial AI technology, including Bespoke Jet Bot through the LiDAR sensors.

However, earlier, the Map View Feature comprised a 2D model and only worked when the entire home’s floor plan was provided. In contrast, Samsung states that the new Map View Feature is now available on Android and iOS devices through the SmartThings app. In addition, in the initial days of this new Map View Feature, Samsung rolled out the feature only in its home country, Korea, and the US last year. But now, the brand has made this new feature available to all countries through the SmartThings app.
