Krafton planning to launch PUBG 2 by next year: Here’s all you need to know

The realm of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is already expanding thanks to Krafton. Its smash-hit PUBG Mobile just obtained an Indian version named Battlegrounds Mobile India as a workaround for the Indian government’s prohibition last year, and its next move will be determined by what the PUBG: New State battle royale brings.

The latter has been released this year, although Krafton may have another game in the works. There might be a PUBG 2 in the works right now, and it could be the successor to PUBG.

PUBG 2 launch is in the works

This knowledge has made the PUBG universe a little more perplexing. To clarify, PUBG 2 will be a PC game that will be released as a sequel to the original PUBG game.

According to a different rumor from Alt Char, a PUBG sequel is in the works, but it will be a standalone game with its own plot. This implies it won’t rely as heavily on the existing gameplay of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds games.

Krafton’s plans for its upcoming games are unknown at this time, but if they are built on Unreal Engine 5, we may expect a slew of upgrades. Unreal Engine 5 already powers several games, including Fortnite, and these are some of the best-looking titles on the market right now.

This indicates that any sequel Krafton is creating will feature the greatest visuals in the company’s history. According to rumors, PUBG 2 will launch on both PC and consoles in 2022.

The tipster also tweeted that an Nvidia leak revealed that a game dubbed X1 is now in production. This X1 game might be the same as PUBG 2, and it will make use of Nvidia’s newest graphics hardware.

However, neither Krafton nor Nvidia have confirmed anything like this, so take this information with a grain of salt for the time being. The reported launch deadlines are far off, and there is a good likelihood that plans may alter as time goes on.
