August 2023 Security Update Rolls Out To Google Pixel Watches

Google has started rolling out the August 2023 security update for the Pixel Watch, which brings minor fixes. Additionally, the update enhances system security by installing the latest patches. Also, like every month, Google has finally released this month’s security update bulletin, which includes all the common vulnerabilities that will be fixed after you install the August 2023 security patch on your Wear OS-based smartwatch.

Google Pixel Watch August 2023 Security Update:

Google Pixel Watch users globally can identify the August 2023 update with build number RWDC.230805.001. As mentioned in its changelog post, Google is rolling out the August 2023 security patch to Watch devices running Wear OS 3.5 starting today and will continue for the next few weeks.

As usual, it will roll out in phases over the next week, depending on the carrier and device. Eligible Pixel Watch users will be notified when the OTA is available. However, the software update includes the latest August 2023 security patch for Pixel Watch users, which comes with minor enhancements and improves system security by installing the latest patches.

Google Pixel Watch: Wear OS Security Bulletin

However, Google published two different patch details called/dated – 2023-08-01 security patch and 2023-08-05. The former brings fixes for Android Runtime, 17 Framework CVEs, a Media Framework CVEs, 13 System CVEs and 7 CVEs related to Google Play system updates. At the same time, the latter includes several fixes for exploits related to specific hardware installations, such as 2 Kernel, 1 Arm component, 1 MediaTek component, and 5 Qualcomm closed-source components.
