‘Google Chat’ is an intelligent and secure communication as well as collaboration tool, basically built for teams. Group collaboration permits Google Workspace content creation and sharing – Docs, Sheets, and Slides, without even having to worry about granting permissions. A couple of days ago, the reports indicated that Google Chat is getting a brand new icon along with resigned navigation on the web application with dedicated views for “Home” and “Mentions.”

And the brand is announcing three new features which will highlight a new integrated experience. The redesigned navigation panel delivers direct messages and spaces altogether. Also, the brand is introducing new shortcuts, a new framework which will help the users to stay on top of their messages.

To reduce the friction while navigating between messages, the home option will help the users they can quickly catch up on any new activity across all the conversations in a single location. Additionally, the users are now permitted to narrow down their views by filtering for unread messages.

Whereas the mentions give visibility into the messages addressed specifically to users. Within this single destination for important, actionable messages, the users will be able to see and also navigate to the messages which @-mention the users.

Apart from these three new improvements, the brand is also upgrading the icon for Google Chat over the coming weeks. The brand-new icon has a united look with other popular Workspace products and reflects the central role of business messaging and collaboration in Workspace.

So, these features are developed to help the users directly, by which they can easily stay on top of the busy flow of communication and make it easier to priorities and also find the conversations which are most important to the users.
