How To Switch From a Jio eSIM to Physical SIM card?

With the evolution of eSIMs over the physical SIM cards, several smartphone manufacturers have been inching towards a full-fledged adoption of an eSIM. With that, in future, technology will be more advanced and rapidly growing. On the flip side, an eSIM card or an Embedded SIM card allows users to store the phone numbers, and other contact information without requiring a physical SIM card. In contrast, there are several users who wish to switch back to the physical SIM from their Jio eSIM. Read along the article to know how you can do that.

In today’s rapidly increasing technology, almost every big and small smartphone brand has been quickly adopting the eSIM era, entirely wiping off the need of the traditional SIM cards. This certainly leads to more and more use of eSIMs over the physical SIM cards. At the same time, despite having a number of advantages, several users prefer to use physical SIM over an eSIM.

eSIM or an Embedded SIM is like a small chip that’s significantly embedded on your smartphone’s motherboard, which certainly stores all the contact information just similar to a physical SIM card. However, it’s not irreplaceable just like your Physical SIM. In the meantime, you can easily switch from your physical SIM card to an eSIM, but you will require a little more work in converting your Jio eSIM to a normal physical SIM card.

With that, an eSIM is simply embedded with your phone’s motherboard and unlike your physical SIM card you can’t be able to deactivate your eSIM just like that and for that you need to visit your nearest Jio store.

  • First off, you are required to deactivate your Jio eSIM and for that just visit your nearest Jio store.
  • Deactivating your Jio eSIM will delete all the network details and other contact information.
  • Once you are in the nearest Jio store, simply explain your circumstances to the Jio agent there.
  • Make sure that you have carried all your identity and address proof with you. Aadhaar will be the best option in such situations.
  • The Jio agent will deactivate your Jio eSIM and will provide a new Jio physical SIM card.
  • This new physical SIM card will be configured with the similar phone number as your Jio eSIM.
  • Now you just have to insert the new Jio physical SIM card on your smartphone and within 2 hours your SIM card will get activated.
  • It’s noteworthy that your recharge plan will automatically be transferred to your new physical Jio SIM card, which means you don’t have to pay any additional costs for your recharge.
