WhatsApp Introducing Channels Feature To Broadcast Messages

WhatsApp keeps on adding new features and enhancements to its application to provide a private or secure platform. For a few weeks, the American tech giant brought new features to the WhatsApp application, like chat lock, message editing, Material You UI, etc. Now the company is rolling out a new feature called Channels in the WhatsApp message app.

With this new Channels feature, you can have a simple, reliable, and private way to receive important updates from people and organizations right within WhatsApp. In addition, the company is displaying channels in a new tab called Updates, where you’ll find the status and channels you’ve selected, separate from your chats with family, friends, and communities.

According to the report, there is a one-way broadcast tool for WhatsApp channels admins who can send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls to these channels. Specifically, these are one-way conversations, so users won’t be able to reply to those messages.

While users can join the Channels through invite links sent on chat, e-mail, online posts, and other platforms, in addition, the company is also building a searchable directory where you can find your hobbies, sports teams, updates from local officials, and more to help you choose channels to follow.

On the other hand, to maintain your privacy and security, the company creates the most private broadcasting service that protects the personal information of admins and followers. The WhatsApp Channels feature is currently available in leading global voices and selects organizations in Colombia and Singapore, and more countries users will get it in the coming months.
