Android 14 Beta 5 Has Started, Removes New Lockscreen Clocks

Google Android 14 Beta 5 has started rolling out for Pixel smartphone users with fixes for issues and bugs. According to the release notes shared by Google, Android 14 beta 5 brings a fix for the issue and is the last chance to make sure your apps are ready and provide feedback before non-beta users start getting Android 14.

According to the timeline published by Google at the start of Android 14’s beta program more than six months ago, July was the last month scheduled for development before the final release. Meanwhile, in its announcement post for Beta 5, Google said that the official release is “only weeks away”.

One takeaway for the potential delay is that Google added two new product lines to its Android device ecosystem right in the middle of development. The Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet were added to the Android 14 Beta program less than a month ago with the Beta 4 release. Today’s update is available for these two new phones, as well as all Google phones, including the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5G, Pixel 6 (6, 6 Pro, and 6a), and the Pixel 7 series (7), is being done. 7 Pro, and 7A).

Last but not least, Google is finalizing its next major operating system with the Beta 5 release. The US tech giant has already confirmed that the next build will be stable, while some bugs and issues still need to be fixed for a better user experience. If you’ve installed a previous beta version, beta 5 will automatically update. Alternatively, you can access the update from the Android developer’s website.

On the other hand, with Beta 3, Google introduced one of the significant new features of Android 14, the ability to customize the clock on your lock screen. Still, in the Beta 5 release, Google removed one option. Eight options for clock styles are available in the Android 14 beta 3. Now, that’s down to seven, as the company has taken the handwritten-looking lock screen clock out of rotation.

Furthermore, beta 5 stands as the third platform stable Android 14 version. It reflects the conclusion of the developer API and app-facing functionalities and fixes several bugs and issues. You can check below.
