Chrome On iPhone Coming With Search Bar Position Similar To Safari

Apple set the stage on fire by playing the search bar on Safari in iOS 15. Moving along a set a pair of years, and at the moment, Chrome has agreed to the very same design change.

As per the reports, Steve Moser previously shared a snapshot of the new address bar setting, which has been added to the experimental version of Chrome for iOS. Now, for Chrome, Google decided to include the settings for choosing between a top or bottom address bar. A touch-and-hold gesture will also fling the address bar from the top or bottom.

With the new change and update, the brand is offering the eligibility to use Chrome on iPhone with the identical search bar placed as Safari, which helps users who change direction between the two browsers. Around-the-clock Chrome browser users will also be eligible to enjoy the same well-received options that Safari picked up in 2021.

Just as of iOS 17, Safari lets the users switch the default bottom search bar to the classic top placed in Settings >> Safari >> Tabs. Earlier versions comprised much the same shortcut as Google’s touch-and-hold gesture. The difference in the functionality of Safari is that the bottom search bar lets you swipe through tabs, or the users can swipe up to see an overview. The top search bar needs clicking the tabs buttons on the toolbar to see an overview or switch between tabs.

However, the option is placed in Omnibox at the bottom of the screen, and for now, this arrangement is only available in the beta version of Chrome for iOS. The noticeable point is that Google has yet to reveal when this feature will be available to all. It is expected that in the future update, this will be rolled out.
