Samsung first introduced its latest One UI 6.0 beta update on 11th August to the Galaxy S23. However, the company has currently released the newest update in three countries, namely, Germany, the United States, and South Korea, for the beta testers. While the latest One UI 6.0 comes with several features and enhancements. One of the exciting features is the Custom Camera widget in the One UI 6.0. One UI 6.0 custom camera widget lets you quickly open the camera in a particular mode. For example, use the camera to shoot many portrait shots using the selfie camera or take pictures of food using food mode. You can use the custom camera widget to open directly in portrait mode. 

Moreover, this widget is packed with a lot of options for camera and camera mode to choose from. Suggests the option where users can save their pictures and videos which they have captured, including the background of the widget.

How to set the custom camera widget on your Galaxy device?

Meanwhile, the custom camera widget is handy for those using the app more frequently. Indeed, it minimizes the time to search for a particular camera mode and reduces the chance of missing precious moments. However, this camera widget will be available to all users once the stable version of the One UI 6.0 is updated.

Here are some instructions following which you can easily set the custom camera widget on your Galaxy smartphone:

  • Long press on the home screen of your Galaxy device.
  • Tap on the Widgets option.
  • Select the Camera option.
  • Here you will see a 2 x 2 custom camera widget. Tap on it. 
  • Here you can select tiles on the widget and which mode you want to shoot the pictures with.
  • While tapping on the Starting mode, you can choose the camera and camera mode to start in.
  • Plus, you can select the Widget background, in which you can choose whether you want to use the most recent image in the camera album or select an image.
