Samsung Monthly Updates: September 2023 Patch Bulletin

Samsung has now officially published the September 2023 Android and One UI patch bulletin for Galaxy devices. However, the company has also rolled out the latest update for its flagship Galaxy S23 with One UI 6.0 beta 2.

Samsung One UI 6.0 Beta 2:

Last week, Samsung’s One UI 6 beta 2 brought several bug fixes and introduced new features for the Galaxy S23 series. One UI 6.0 Beta 2 improves shortcut keys, intermittent infinite loading and playing, Home app crashes, multi-window stability in Secure Folder, execution failure of Repair Mode, device selection instability in Music Share, and more. Read here…

In the latest security bulletin, Samsung disclosed several security vulnerabilities affecting the Galaxy Runtime, Framework, System and Media Framework. According to Samsung’s documentation, the August 2023 security patch fixes 4 critical, 19 high-level CVEs and no medium-level CVEs. However, the 8 CVEs do not apply to Samsung devices.

On the other hand, the Samsung Semiconductor patch is also included in this security maintenance release with 2 CVE Moderate and 2 Low items. Along with Google patches and Samsung Semiconductor patches, South Korean tech giant Samsung provides 35 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, described in the links below, to improve our customers’ experience in protecting Samsung mobile devices.

On the other hand, Google has reportedly delayed the official launch of Android 14 by a month, which could coincide with the launch of the Pixel 8 series on October 4. Meanwhile, Samsung has been running the One UI 6 beta program for its flagship Galaxy S23 series since last month.
