Google Messages Could Get a New 4-Second Selfie GIFs Feature

  • Google could bring a new 4-second selfie GIF feature to Google Messages.
  • Once activated, users can capture a 4-second GIF video.
  • The new selfie GIF feature will offer the capability that users will be able to use both the front and back cameras for GIF.

Google Messages Selfie GIFs Feature: Google has always been working on adding new and interesting features to its widely used app, Google Messages. In the same context, Google has significantly added numerous features, including custom backgrounds, screen effects, and more, in December, offering a much better messaging experience. In contrast, however, Google might have left to announce a new feature that would allow users to capture a few seconds of selfie GIFs within the Google Messages app, and hence, it could bring the selfie GIFs feature.

A new selfie GIF feature is hidden within the most recent version of Google Messages, allowing users to take a 4-second selfie GIF. In the meantime, it could be configured once a flag is turned on. Users can trigger the feature by long-pressing the camera icon attached next to the text field.

At the same time, long-pressing the camera icon will significantly open an all-new user interface that has a round-shaped camera frame in the center and a camera switch button, which is placed at the bottom and will allow you to switch between the front and back cameras, respectively, so that you can record a 4-second selfie GIF.

Furthermore, you can easily record a 4-second selfie GIF once you see the 3-second timer appearing on the screen. Soon after recording the GIF, a new screen will appear where you can preview your recorded GIF, and simultaneously, if you are not satisfied with your captured GIF, you can remove it and then record a fresh one by tapping on the Reset button at the bottom, while if you tap on the send button, you can share your captured selfie GIF with the recipient whom you wish to send it.

However, it’s yet to be clarified that when Google is going to introduce the 4-second selfie GIF publicly (Google Messages Selfie GIFs Feature), we just have to wait till the company makes the feature official.
