Is the Latest Xiaomi 14 Ultra Waterproof?

In the meantime, the simplest answer to the question is: is the new flagship, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, waterproof? YES! The device is fully waterproof; it’s not water-resistant, meaning it can easily handle water splashes and rain drops, and it can fully submerge in about 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. Although the recently unveiled Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes with an IP68 rating, which is considered the highest amount of protection against water and dust particles, respectively,.

The IP, or Ingress Protection Rating, is a standard level of measurement that tells us that the device is protected against two kinds of ingress: solid ingress (fine dust particles) and liquid ingress (water), respectively. In the case of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the device comes with an IP68 certification, where the first digit following the IP rating, which is 6, highlights that the device is highly dust-proof.

On the flip side, the second digit in an IP rating, which is 8 (in the case of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra), signifies that the device has the highest level of protection against water. At the same time, the device is perfectly capable of handling water splashes and rain drops; it’s specially designed to fully submerge in about 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes, which means that you can easily take your device worry-free near any water bodies.
