- Meta was testing the edit post feature on multiple platforms, including Threads.
- This feature has finally been launched.
- Users can edit posts up to 5 minutes after posting.
In May 2023, WhatsApp introduced the new Edit button to edit your WhatsApp messages, so for those moments when you make a mistake or change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages. Recently, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Threads, Instagram’s Twitter-like app, is bringing an edit button.
According to the information, Threads has finally added editing support for posts. You can edit messages up to 5 minutes after posting it, but after five minutes, it’s blocked. Also, this new feature works on both mobile apps and the web and is already visible to some users.
Starting today, the feature will also gradually roll out to all Threads users on Android, iPhone, and desktop globally. According to the information, this facility will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. As we know, Threads is Instagram’s X-like app, notable in that its functionality is free, but it is more limited than Twitter’s version, given the more strict time limits.
How To Edit A Threads Post?
From correcting a simple misspelling to adding extra context to a post, the company is excited to bring you more control over your posts. All you need to do is tap on the three dot button on a sent post and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu for up to five minutes after. After editing, tap on Post, and it’s done.
Moreover, the company is also introducing a new feature called “Voice Threads”, where users can attach an audio clip to a post.
