Reasons why GTA 6 could release its first look trailer by December 2022

The one thing we know for sure about Rockstar Games is that we probably have no notion of what they have planned for GTA 6. They’re the experts of secret-keeping and we very seldom acquire any concrete information about their main titles unless they want us to know. Hence, fans are anticipating several dates for the trailer reveal of GTA 6.

That being said, despite their propensity to keep supporters in the dark, it can’t be disputed that they are animals of habit. Given how the run-up to two prior games played out, we’re quite convinced we have an idea of when the GTA 6 formal reveal may take place.

Why fans are anticipating the trailer reveal of GTA 6 by December 2022?

When we look at how the revelations played out for both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, we anticipate that GTA 6 will launch its official hype campaign sometime this autumn.

November 2011 was when Grand Theft Auto 5 was released and October 2011 was when we first saw Red Dead Redemption 2. These were the previous two big releases from Rockstar Titles and we assume that whatever is planned for the presentation of GTA 6, should follow a similar timeline to these two games.

Of course, they may opt to utterly surprise us with a summer reveal, it may come down to events beyond their control such as the readiness of the game. If there is one thing we know Rockstar will not do, it’s show off a game long before it’s close to acceptable.

There have been lots of theories that say GTA 6 may not come until 2024 and that a reveal this year is too soon. Once again, we move to GTA 5 which was unveiled in late-2011 and released in late-2013. This demonstrates that Rockstar has no problem with a nearly two-year delay between revelation and release.
