Galaxy S23 Gets September 2023 Security Update In The US [Updated]

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are getting September 2023 security update based on Android 13 in the US. The update is rolling out for locked models on the Xfinity Mobile (Comcast) & Spectrum Mobile network carrier.

At the beginning of the month, Samsung released the September 2023 security update for the Galaxy S23 series. However, the update was limited to One UI 6.0 beta testers. Today, the South Korean firm released the September 2023 security update for the Galaxy S23 family in the US.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with firmware versions S911USQS1AWHDS916USQS1AWHD, and S918USQS1AWHD. This update is only for carrier-locked versions of the phone (Verizon and US Cellular networks), and factory-unlocked and other networks units are yet to receive the new security update.

You can now check for the new update if you have a Verizon carrier-locked Galaxy S23 series device in the US. On the Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps, tap Settings > System updates > System on Check for updates. If your device gets a new firmware update, tap Download Now. 

Galaxy S23 September 2023 Update: What’s New

According to Samsung. The September 2023 security update brings 62 CVEs, including 23 Google, 35 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, and 2 CVE Moderate and 2 Low items from the Samsung Semiconductor patch. Google’s 8 CVEs as of May 23 do not apply to Samsung devices.

Moving on, the update comes with the latest September 2023 Android security patch, which aims to improve your phone’s security to keep your personal files and data safe on your handset. Furthermore, it optimizes system stability and reliability to get smooth and uninterrupted functionality on your Galaxy smartphone.
