X (Twitter) Caught Showing Unlabeled Ads In Following Feed

‘X,’ which got recognition by the name of Twitter, unfortunately got the random bug. The new reports indicate that X has been caught while displaying unlabeled ads in the Following feeds of the users.

According to TechCrunch, it has revealed that, while scrolling the Following feed on a Mac using the Chrome web browser, it has been faced with numerous unlabeled ads mixed in with posts from the public the users follow.

Unlabeled Ads While Scrolling Following Feeds

This is pretty apparent while being active on the X app; users several times used X’s Following feed to see updates from the accounts they are following. This feed commonly consists of posts from the accounts the users have decided to receive updates from. But, it appears that X has planned to insert unlabeled ads into this feed.

However, these unlabeled ads are leading to inconvenience and frustration among the users in their flawless experience. According to the reports, it has been spotted that unlabeled ads are interrupting regular posts. Because of this, users are facing difficulties distinguishing between genuine content and promotional material.

Suspense remains if this issue is a glitch with the app’s advertising platform or an intentional change to mislead the users into trusting some ads are regular posts from accounts they used to follow. This unlabeled ad issue appears while switching from a more standing out “Promoted” label at the bottom of its ads. It also consists of an arrow icon placed at the right above side of the post’s interaction buttons, which are like reply and retweet.

Moreover, the users can only identify these ads by clicking on the three-dot menu at the post’s top-right corner. After a bit, it will show some options only confined to an ad post. Refer to – Not interested in this ad or Why this ad?
