Samsung is rapidly releasing the latest security updates for its smartphones and tablets. After the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, and several high-end phones, the Galaxy S21 FE has started receiving the September 2023 security update.
The new security update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990B2XXS5EWI1. The download size of the new update is around 247.65 MB and brings the September 2023 security patch to deliver a smooth experience.
Currently, the update is rolling out to European models of the Galaxy S21 FE, and more regions may soon get this update in the coming days or weeks. The update improves system security, stability, and overall performance of the device.
According to Samsung, the September 2023 security patch fixes 23 CVEs of Android OS and 35 SVEs to enhance the security and stability of the devices. The firmware fixes issues mainly related to Samsung Keyboard, Dual Messenger, Knox AI, Phone and Messaging Storage, One UI Home, Weather, and more.
However, this software update does not include any new features or enhancements. The update is rolling out slowly, so it may take some time to reach all eligible units. You can install the latest update via Settings >> Software Update >> Download and Install or you can wait for the OTA update.
On the flip side, Samsung recently started the One UI 6 Beta program for the Galaxy S22 series smartphone in Korea and comes with One UI version S90*NKSU3ZWIA and an installation package size of around 2999.48 MB.
