Thread Will Soon Get A Way To Categorize The Posts Using (#)HashTags

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Meta-owned Threads has now come up with another new feature but with a catch.
  • As Mark Zuckerberg said in his Threads post, users will now be able to categorize their posts using tags.
  • This feature will first be rolling out to users in Australia, with more countries very soon.

Threads was introduced by Meta as a perfect competitor of social media rival X (which was earlier known as Twitter) a couple of months ago and has revealed many interesting features since then. However, Threads has never been in competition with X; still, the similarity between both applications can be highly noticed. In contrast, now the Meta-owned platform is preparing to reveal another new feature, which is more or less similar to X, but there’s a catch.

In the meantime, Instagram has hashtags(#), and they play a crucial role in posting something. And now, according to Mark Zuckerberg, users will soon be able to split their Thread posts into categories, including hashtags, which is now going to be introduced into the application, but with a catch. The catch here is that the tags will not be showcased along with a specific character. It’s just going to appear as blue, hyperlinked words.

It’s worth noting that the Thread users will only be able to use these tags once in each post, which means it will be impossible to use multiple tags in a single post.

It’s seen through a Thread post shared by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in which he says, “Testing a way to categorize your posts with a tag. Starting in Australia with more countries coming soon”.

Other than that, in the recent past, Meta has announced that Thread users will now be able to delete their Threads Accounts separately, which means that by deleting the Threads profile, their Instagram profile will not be deleted; that wasn’t possible to do before. On the flip side, another update includes the ability for the users to opt out of being suggested on other social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
