Vivo Is Launching Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 On October 7

Exciting News! While we patiently wait for Google to drop its first stable build of Android 14, Vivo isn’t waiting to announce its own. The company is trying to get a leg up on the competition this year, announcing that Funtouch OS 14 – which is, of course, based on Android 14 – will have a global launch on October 7.

On the other hand, the stable Android 14 update may launch tomorrow along with the Pixel 8 series launch event, this information has been revealed by Canadian carrier Telus. The carrier listed that Android U (14) will be released on October 4, 2023, for all Pixel phones, including the Pixel 4a and newer. However, after receiving attention, the carrier removed that information. So, there has been no official announcement yet, but it all sounds certain and makes sense.

Funtouch OS 14 Based on Android 14 Will Launch on October 7

As per the post shared on ‘X’ formerly Twitter, by @FuntouchOS_IN, which is an official handle of the brand, revealing the launch date of Funtouch OS 14. According to the post, Vivo today announced that it will launch the Funtouch OS14 based on Android 14 on October 7. The Chinese smartphone maker claims that the Funtouch OS 14 will be one of the first operating systems to be released based on Android 14.

Also, the company claims that the OS team is already working hard to combine the fast and seamless experience of Funtouch OS and Android 14 to meet the expectations of our tech-savvy community.

Amidst all this, it is unclear on which devices Funtouch OS 14 will appear first. Presumably, it is coming as an update to the Vivo X90 Pro and iQOO 11, although it remains to be seen whether it will be available to all users on October 7. Vivo usually puts its devices through beta testing, although there is no mention of an early access program today.
