What is Maintenance Mode in Samsung Galaxy Phones? Compatible Devices

Samsung launched the Maintenance mode in China in September 2022. Later in October, the company expanded to the global market, which is now gradually rolling out to select models running One UI 5.0 and One UI 5.1 will follow in the next few months throughout 2023.

This One UI maintenance mode was initially available on select flagship and premium Galaxy devices running Android 13-based One UI 5. But, Samsung has expanded its availability to more of its devices, including its tablets. You can now check out the complete list of Galaxy devices that support One UI Maintenance Mode.

One UI: Maintenance Mode in Samsung Galaxy Phones:

One UI Maintenance Mode can address the user’s anxiety that comes with giving a personal device to someone for repair. Moreover, it is a way of creating a separate user account when you hand in your device to be repaired so they can operate core functions without being able to access to any of your private information, such as their photos, messages or contacts.

When this One UI mode is on, the technician only has access to preinstalled apps like Samsung Gallery and Samsung Messages. Not all preloaded Samsung and Microsoft apps are available to uninstall from your Galaxy phone.

How to Enable Maintenance Mode on Your Samsung Galaxy Smartphone

  • Open the Settings menu on your Galaxy devices.
  • Scroll down and tap on Battery & Device Care.
  • Tap on Maintenance Mode at the bottom of the list.
  • Confirm your choice by tapping ON.
