It’s only been a few weeks since it was reported how Google Messages was expanding its ‘Conversation Categories’ functionality to additional users, particularly in the United States.
Previously, it and other features were only available in India, and the release date of these new and fascinating tools was kept under wraps. Message reactions were similarly slow to appear for most users, as was the ability to automate the deletion of OTP codes.
However, Google said this morning on its official blog that many of these features will be available to all users in the “coming weeks.” Finally, the wait is now over.
New features from Google Messages will now help users to be more organized and efficient
The ability to press and hold texts received from your iPhone contacts to add reaction emoji that they will see is the first feature you can expect to see shortly. Anyone with an English-enabled smartphone (other languages will be available shortly) will be able to break through the boundary between their green and blue bubble friends.
Following that, Google Photos will now manage photos and videos delivered via Google Messages. This guarantees that their quality is maintained across devices and operating systems, providing a better experience for everyone regardless of their hardware.

With the long-awaited ‘Conversation Categories’ feature, the messages inbox will now be significantly more structured. You’ll see an “All” smart chip at the top of your inbox for all communications, followed by filter chips for “Personal” and “Business.” Contacts will be under “Personal,” while One Time Password codes (OTPs) and other business messages will be in “Business.”
Messages have always been very utilitarian, so it’s great to see innovative features that are already available in many other messaging applications making their way to the most popular method to connect with people.
