Google Play Store Will Offer “The Play Report” To Find Apps & Games

The Google Play Store is the most significant application market, and the statistics say there are approximately 2.87 million apps available for download, subdivided into 30 categories to choose from. Types refer to terms; Google can categorise and group apps together with similar apps. For instance, social, games, entertainment, study and many more. At the moment, Google is now adding a Video to the mix with The Play Report, a new shorts-style series limelighting the newest and greatest Android apps, which includes hidden apps that the users might not be able to find otherwise.

To enhance the user’s experience, Google Play is dropping a new video series named “The Play Report.” This will help the users find the applications and games they like. The series will provide the facility of highlighting new releases, top picks, and hidden gems, all organised by Google’s editorial team. Noticeably, at the top of the Play Store’s homepage, Play Report videos will appear for selecting users in the United States, almost identical to YouTube Shorts, how they appear on YouTube’s website on desktop.

According to the blog post of Google, it is revealed that a great many episodes will be available for each series and hosted by “expert voices, interestingly from the creators to Googlers.” Only announcement videos are available for now, but Google assures that the latest episodes will be rolled out as soon as possible and may also be in the next few weeks. Also, presently, the users who are not a part of the pilot will continue to see the regular promotional cards at the top of the Play Store. Still, luckily, they can watch the videos through other platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram accounts.

Through this facility, Google wants to save users time by letting experts tell them which applications and games are worth their time and attention, which save time instead of wasting scrolling. The search giant hoping to create application discovery is pretty much a breeze with its latest video series.
