Google Could Beat Other OEMs With 7 Years Of OS Updates

Every Android device receives software updates so as to bring the latest features and enhancements within the smartphone, providing a better and smoother software experience. However, every brand offers major OS updates but for a short period of time, such as two or three years. Although Samsung, a couple of years ago, promised that it would provide four years of OS updates to its smartphones. Furthermore, unlike Samsung, other brands also followed the same tradition. However, Google has taken a step forward and could offer extensive OS updates to its Pixel devices.

Google 7 Years Of OS Updates: 

As per the information reported by 91Mobiles through the Tipster Kamila Wojceichowska, Google has been planning to provide a massive 7 years of updates to its Pixel smartphones, beginning with the Pixel 8 Series, the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. However, it doesn’t mean that Google could surpass other brands and offer up to 7 years of OS and security updates. But Google might provide 5 years of major OS updates along with 7 years of security updates.

Meanwhile, Google’s Pixel 8 series will be coming with the Android 14 under the hood by next month. However, this is just information following inevitable leaks and rumors. If this information is correct, the Pixel 8 series will receive up to 5 years of major OS updates, which means that these Pixel smartphones will get new features and enhancements up to Android 19.

Following a series of leaks and rumors, the Pixel 8 series, the Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro might be coming with the Android 14 out of the box, offering several exciting features and enhancements in certain areas. These features include an AMOLED display with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz, corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, a stunning 50MP dual camera with OIS functionality, loud stereo speakers, a 4485mAh battery along with 24W Wired charging and 12W wireless charging support, and more.
