Material You Redesign Of Google Chrome Rolling Out Widely

As everyone is familiar, Google announced a Material You revamp for Chrome on desktops a few months ago on its 15th birthday. This interesting redesign includes the general refreshment of the icons, menus that have been reordered, and more. And now the company is all set to roll out this interesting Material You revamp on a much wider basis.

Interestingly, Google performed the last redesign back in 2018 along with introducing the Google Material Theme, which is entirely concurrent with the Material You redesign, which was introduced on Google’s 15th birthday, including design language having rounded corners of the side panel, whereas the tab strip, address bar, as well as the bookmarks, is now bigger.

As adopting the HTTPs worldwide, the Omnibox, where users type the URLs, now doesn’t display a lock icon on the far left. Instead, the new icon is intended to highlight that tapping on the Omnibox will provide you with information about sites. Meanwhile, other improvements and changes include outline-style icons, hollow from the inside. The most prominent change is in the three-dot overflow menu, allowing each item to be paired with its respective icon, preventing it from being messy.

Furthermore, the menus have also been reordered, and it’s very impressive that the Material You design has a new and redesigned color palette that offers much better aesthetics to your tabs and the toolbar. All in all, with this latest update, Chrome’s basic layout hasn’t been changed. In addition, this Material You design will soon be rolled out to Mac, Windows, and Linux when updating to the latest 119 version in the upcoming days.
