WhatsApp has always aimed to provide the best possible experience to users by introducing amazing functionalities and features. In a similar context, WhatsApp is going to introduce two new features for WhatsApp beta for Android, including a fresh UI for the Status updates and Hide the Community Group Chats, respectively.
According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android has version numbers 2.24.10.10 for the revamped UI for Status updates and 2.24.10.13 beta version that introduces a new capability to Hide the Community Group Chats.
WhatsApp is rolling out a Fresh and revamped UI for Status updates
Available to some beta testers with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.10.10 version, WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new interface for the Status updates carousel. Some selected beta testers have just received a new update that significantly introduced the latest interface for their Status updates. Meanwhile, the Status updates are placed at the top as usual. Still, adding an additional layer of convenience, the revamped interface will now offer users a short preview of the unseen Status updates in the form of a thumbnail.
This new revamped layout for the Status updates will provide users with convenience, as they will not have to open each of their Status updates individually and will be able to see each Status update through the preview. However, this newest functionality is currently available to some beta testers, and it will roll out to more users over the next few weeks.
The new ability to Hide the Community Group Chats is currently under work
Another feature spotted with the WhatsApp beta for Android with 2.24.10.13 version is that WhatsApp is currently working on a new Hide Community Group Chats feature, allowing users to significantly hide some specific groups from the WhatsApp Community Group chat list. Through this new feature, a new dedicated hidden icon will be placed beside the Group’s name. Meanwhile, this icon will significantly let Community members quickly recognize that they are part of a hidden group placed separately from the main Community screen.
This will also allow members to keep certain group activities secret. WhatsApp will highlight the hidden group belonging to which community straight on the Chat info page. The feature will completely hide the hidden Community Group, allowing users to easily distinguish between the hidden and visible ones. This feature further adds an extra layer of privacy as the users can easily customize their Community group lists to focus only on the chats, not revealing certain group activities.
Moreover, the new capability to Hide the Community Group chats is currently under development, and WhatsApp will make this feature available in future updates.
